WTH is it with iTunes?
RANT
Why does everything want me to use iTunes? I LOATHE iTunes. It’s the biggest, clunkiest, RAM-hog, “free for people that don’t want to know how to use real computers” piece of crap. I avoid it like the plague whenever I can. It’s always bothering me about updates and Terms of Service and needing to constantly run in the background while I’m checking my email or painting pictures of my uncontrollable hate for “helpful” software.
So, tonight I try to download a free (with promotional credit) mp3 from Amazon. Amazon for some reason has also decided to be a little bitch and make me download their own POS software every time I want to download or rent media. Now to wash that bitter pill down, Amazon’s MP3 Downloader opens iTunes and imports the song I downloaded without asking me if that’s cool. So, I ask again, “WHAT THE HELL?!?”
People, if I need any damn help with where to put my music or videos, I’d like to have the option of downloading your crap software, but don’t shove it down my throat. I’ve had just about enough help from formerly reliable software companies to last me a good long while (I’m looking at you MS Office 2007).
